Members thom's thumb Posted July 3, 2012 Members Posted July 3, 2012 Meet my "brotha"...Ryan David --callsign "Meatwad". He gave his life defending Americans here in our own country flying fire-fighting C-130s in SD. He was truly a really good dude. "Meat" leaves behind a beautiful baby boy, Robert Scott David born 27 Dec 11 and his wife Jenny Ellerbe. This man was a veteran of both wars, and was recently promoted to Major. "Brotha"....YOU WILL BE MISSED!!! And to the entire crew of MAFFS 7, I honor your sacrifice! **Tailwinds always Brotha, keep the beer cold -- until we meet again... http://www.dvidshub.net/news/91064/nc-air-national-guard-announces-c-130-crash-victims#.T_L3Gq7qNbz

Members Harry_Manback1 Posted July 3, 2012 Members Posted July 3, 2012 Very sad news man. Rest in Peace.
Members RUExp? Posted July 4, 2012 Members Posted July 4, 2012 Condolences to his friends and family.
Phil O'Keefe Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Those aircrews ARE heroes. I'm so sorry to hear that your "brotha" was on the C130 that went down battling those fires.
Members lefort_1 Posted July 4, 2012 Members Posted July 4, 2012 RIP Meat Those of us who fought fires on the ground really loved the guys in the air... more than once they cut a fire short when we were looking at a week or more if fighting it alone. words cannot express....
Members Hookandcanman Posted July 4, 2012 Members Posted July 4, 2012 Rest in Peace. People like him are who we should be thinking of tomorrow...instead of just getting {censored}faced and playing with explosives.
Members King Rat Posted July 4, 2012 Members Posted July 4, 2012 MOJO! RIP. True definition of a hero.
Members Felix959 Posted July 4, 2012 Members Posted July 4, 2012 My condolences. I heard about the crash on the news this morning and my heart sank. Your brother, or "brotha," if he wasn't family, was a brave man.
