OT: What is your opinion on straight-string pull and tilt-back heads?

I don't particularly care other than the fact that if my tele falls over its not going to snap the headstock off but if my SG does there is a chance due to the tilt back head stock. Other than that i haven't noticed a difference but maybe i'm just not looking for one.

haha I have an 69 epi Olympic with that head stock it is a tiny guitar in terms of the amount of wood it's made from but the straight string and tilted headstock really give it a beautifully resonant sound

it's acoustically quite loud and sounds great unplugged

it is how ever funking delicate and not a guitar I would throw around like my squires

I have left it in a tatty non sealed case for literally a year and the tuning is still as rock solid as the day I first tuned it

Does it? Do you know from first hand experience?

Yes. Every guitar I've ever played where the strings left the nut at a left/right angle on the headstock end have had problems binding at the nut and not staying in tune. The ones where the tuner is in-line with the nut slot have not had that problem.
