This week's review - Earthquaker Devices Tone Job

awesome! That frequency chart is a nice touch too. Is it just a general purpose 3-band EQ chart you had around, or is did you go the extra mile and graph out the Tone Job for us?

That's the actual EQ plot of the Tone Job, but I didn't graph it out - Earthquaker did and put it into the doc sheet for the pedal. All I did was photograph it and include it in the review. :)

great review Phil :thu:

just wondering though if the fixed freq on the mids ever felt limiting at all?

besides that, i can see this being far more useful than a 7-band eq pedal; especially the fact that it has low and high shelving.

you could potentially use it on wet-only signals to make your favourite reverb or delay sound how you want it to. so your DD-3 could have high end rolled off (only other option an expensive keeley mod), pronounced mids, low cut, and dare i say 'analog'-like..?

and on reverbs, the boomy low end, lack of mid harmonics, harsh high end, etc could all be tailored!

very interesting.. have you tried it for that kind of stuff Phil?

That was a very good review. well written and the kind of info I would need on a pedal like that.

Your points on shaping pedals were very good.

Now my problem, you are making me want to spend money I do not have :(

I also have a question, would it work well in an FX loop as a solo boost?
