Members OMTerria
I'm looking at maybe getting a vintage Phase 100 since they really aren't that expensive and seem to sound better then the new ones (or even the 80's ones?) and I guess they don't have a script reissue like they do with Phase 90. Seems like a cool thing to have but if the bypass sucks it really wouldn't be worth it.
Members Reaganomics!
It has the old style SPST switch where the circuit is always in play, so there's a very good chance of tone suck
Phil O'Keefe
Yeah, their old bypass is suck. It's not too difficult to convert it to true bypass though. FWIW, the Phase 100 is one of my favorite old phasers. I like it much better than the Phase 45 and Phase 90.
Members OMTerria
Well damn. I guess it may not wouldn't really be worth it for a vintage unit then. I don't suppose you have any thoughts on the current version in reference to the older ones, Phil?
Members eerock
I think it's same as in old EHX pedals. Rips off all the high end unless you have a buffered pedal before it - then you're good to go!
