slight change in plans, decided to use a jag neck pick up as it will fit the guard better (sjag2, not sure if neck or bridge, but meh), talking with pick guardian about a pick guard. unfortunately the guard is proving tricky, from checking forums, fender seem to think the squire guard is the same as the fender 69 thinline guard, but tony from pickguardian almost guarantees its different. I am trying to track down the original from the previous owner to see if i can get a tracing or the guard sent to pick guardian. if anyone else has experience with one of these and can provide some insight, feel free.

aaaaanyways, the other guitar is another squier tele, this one will be getting lace pickups, but I am deciding on a guard, which of the below...

You should ask over on the offsetguitars forum, someone there will definitely have one. Lots of nice knowledgable folks over there.

The body was redrilled by the previous owner, but I have heard the difference can be compensated for with the normal tele bridge if you install the US one. A fender 69 thinline guard works but you need to drill most of the screw holes, only 2 or 3 fit. The bridge is a standard mustang/jm bridge that I installed some grooved tele saddles on, very cheap/easy upgrade that is quite functional. I have used a similar bridge on my jazzmaster and it works great.
