I don't even remember seeing any high profile bands using them. They just started showing up in my local guitar store in the early '00s when I first started playing and had no clue about equipment. They looked cool and were inconceivably expensive to 14 year old me so I assumed they were THE premier amp on the market.

The website and Wiki page try hard to make it seem like one unbroken line, but I don't think there was any production (and probably no company) between 1979-1996. One of the original partners (Cliff Cooper) is apparently still involved, so there's that.
