Need help identifying this fuzz

I've been listening to this Zero 7 track for years, and I love the tone on the solo (starts around 2:40). It's this crazy cool octave fuzz tone, but it almost sounds like the attack is removed from the beginning of some of the notes? I don't know if this would be like a Slow Gear into an octave fuzz, or if it's some sort of studio trick, or just a specific pedal. Any thoughts? I love that sound.

To find the volume envelope controller you seek, look for one that puts a puff of chiff at the end of the 'decay' phase...mimics pick-noise. I don't think slo-gear does this. Either that, or its old-fashioned studio reverse playback.

The octavefuzz has already been adequately described above.

It really does sound to me like the moonrock, though. It does both of these things.
