How many solder connections are we talking about here

in your average handmade tube amp?

I have solder joint vibration issues and am going to take it in for search and repair mission. But how can the tech find the problem -I mean there must be 2354981750913457 solder joints in there yes? Just curious please humor me.

Break the connection between pre and poweramp. If the poweramp works with a signal (guitar ;) ) its 50% less. Then bypass every gainstage except the CF (35% less). still 15%. Then check all grounds, then . . . .

Lets see...

If a Turret board has about 60 turrets.

Figure double that since wire has two ends (120)

Plus all the misc stuff like jacks, switches, lights, grounds, caps, transformers - you're probably looking at about 300 solder joints.

OK thanks
I'm sure my tech will probably test it all out first, like Duesentrieb described. Gaaah I wish I could do this myself.
