Members Rufus Leaking Posted December 20, 2005 Members Posted December 20, 2005 Anyone looking for a Cameron modded Marshall let me know. I have to do some more A/Bing over the next few days before I make a final decision, but I will likely be selling my JMP with Mark's "Super Aldridge" mod.

Unfortunately, the wait time is not influenced by talent or referal marketability... my friend is a beast. I feel bad because I was the one that steared him to Cameron. He bought an 800 reissue, sent it out and.... well, that was spring 2004, right before Mark changing residence, phones, jobs, etc. So, had he gotten his amp, even in less than a year, I would have ordered one. He has 50+ students... some of them would've ordered them. Our friends in the DC area shredding community would have heard them... and probably ordered them. Instead, when my buddy gets his amp back, he will have a sweet novelty amp... and none of the resulting business will line Mark's pockets. It's sad. What I wish for is for him to just license his circuits to Bogner and have them put it out in a stock, readily available fashion. Call it the Bogner Cameron for all I care, but let me at least order one and know the decade of delivery. {censored}, make this agreement now and have Bogner techs take over the backlog. The amps sound great from everything I've heard from them, so screw the mod approach and do it from scratch like Voodoo and Splawn. Leverage Bogner's power to market and distribute the thing and be proud of the achievement. Get some notoriety... for positive reasons. It seems AWEFULLY strange that Bogner would agree to employ him, a competitor, but that they didn't come to a deal with distributing his designs. Seems it would benefit both parties and make them some money. I'm really sorry to hear about your buddy's experience. And I'm sure Mark appreciates your efforts (or what would've/could've been a profitable situation!). I can comment on the Bogner situation. Reinhold's just a really secure and kind individual. Mark's free to tech and consult on many of the Bogner lines. In fact I've got several friends who've gotten Cameronized Bogners. Not in the modded sense, but in an improved Bogner voicing and circuit. A Cameronized-Bogner? That's one left up to Reinhold and Jorg (and yes Mark's got ideas!).

In fact, I was waiting while Mark completed his latest 2 channel amp, foot switcher and all. Not an easy task given his attention to detail, and his day job at Bogner. My advice to those who want a Cameronized amp - call Mark. Vigilance is key. The opinions of others, while interesting and sometimes relevant, are no substitutes for getting the information from the guy himself IMHO. That channel switcher could have been mine. It's a beast for sure! Clean/ overdriven plexi channel, with the Aldrich high gain on the other. I'll write a review probably after the holidays as I haven't had much time with it yet. As far as other's getting done before mine, well if anyone got their amp in the past 2 years, then most likely you got yours before mine as that is how long it took. I could probably write 3 pages about what happened over the past 2 years, but I won't. End of the story, that's how long it took for better or worse. I'm not going to sugar coat anything, or make up stories for that matter. Hopefully Mark is back on track now.

It is true that people got their amps while others still waited. I know that for a fact.It is sad, because I probably could have given him a half a dozen referals from my friends. After the wait I went through, they are like "No way Jose" (no pun intended !) It is too bad because the amp kicks all kinds of butt.Mark said that he has cleared out most of his backlog. The quality of the amps never seem to be in question. IMO, he will have to start over to rebuild his reputation as far as delivering on what he says he's going to do after this many mishaps.
