Members geek_usa
Getting a DC-3 here shortly from a kind fellow named Adam here on the boards. I'm also re-doing my pedalboard as well to celebrate for my first tube amp. I was thinking about getting a Tube Screamer or something similar as a boost pedal for the lead channel for searing solos. However I dunno if I should justify buying a pedal when the Mesa probably already has enough gain. Is this a good decision? Or not?

Members SFW
To boost the lead channel? No. To use on the Clean channel to add a bit of grit? sure.
Members El Guapo
Never tried a DC-3 but I would at least wait until you have the amp and try it out to see if you do indeed need more of a 'searing lead tone'. At least that's what I would do.

Members dughaze
If the particular Mesa has the graphic EQ you can kick in and out with a footpedal that can act as your boost. I think the DC series have them.
