Members Megadeth7684 Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 http://tremol-no.com/ Anyone have a clue when these things are gonna be available?
Members GRIFF10672 Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 Don't know ..... just watched the demo on it . really cool piece of gear . If I still played a Floyd I'd be all over that thing .

Members jem7vwh Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 I never really understood what it does. Anyone care to enlighten?
Members GRIFF10672 Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 Yeah ... I think that's the coolest feature . I never did much whammy wankin . But it would be sweet for dropping down to those old Iommi depths .
Members GRIFF10672 Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 jem ... check out the demo ...pretty cool idea actually . let's you go from dive only to full float to hard tail
Members GRIFF10672 Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 hey Mega ......... I heard you got a Caparison .... what do you think ???? any pics I'm not totally sure what kind of music your into ... but from previous posts and your sign on .. seems that your into the older thrash/metal does the Caparison shred or what ????

Members jem7vwh Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 Yeah, I just watched the demo. So how would you go about switching tunings? Wouldnt there be problems with the locking nut, etc? And after you switch tuning in hardtail or dive only, can you switch to full floating without tuning loss?

Yeah man, I just got one! Very awesome guitar, it definitely shreds. 27 frets, and the neck is perfect, fast and comfortable as hell. Sounds nice and heavy too. I play a lot of Swedish metal stuff, heavy stuff with a lot of harmonies and such. Here are some pics...
Members GRIFF10672 Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 Man that is a fast looking guitar ..... the neck looks flat like a mother ( for the super shredding I'm sure ) I like the inlays a lot is that an 81 in the bridge ..... and did it come with EMG's or did you have a choice on what was what . Caparison is a fairly new name ( to me anyway ) but I'm hearing nothing but great things about them .

The neck is right in between an Ibanez Wizard I and a Jackson Soloist neck, and it's all sanded down and smooth. It's an 85 in the bridge and an S in the neck. It came with those pickups, I bought the guitar from Peter Joseph, of the band The Absence. Caparison has been around since 1995, but they only have one US dealer. The link to their website is in my sig if you want any more info.

I like the strat style body more than anything ...... but have always wanted the RR V . I'll have to do some more homework ..... thanks for the info !!!!!!!!

You could just block the trem with a piece of wood. You can still bring the bar down, just not up... That is what I do... Steve

Members jem7vwh Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 So do you have to unscrew the locking nut when your're tuning in hardtail or dive only mode then put it back on or what? Does it make it s you can tune like on a hardtail guitar? Confusing.

I read along time ago in a GFTPM mag that Eddie used to weld a nickel to his bridge ... so after divebombing he would still be in tune.
Members leelee Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 That's actually what I do too, wrapped hockey tape around a couple of quarters and shoved it between the block of metal and the wood. Dives down but doesn't pull up. I'm pretty sure a lot of other people do something similar. Confusing. If you have a floyd with a locking nut, you can put the tremol-no into hardtail mode (locking the trem in place), loosen the lock nuts, and tune to whatever your heart desires. For obvious reasons, when you want to put your trem back into fully floating mode, you'd have to tune to whatever tuning your guitar is set up in, whether it be E or a#.You should also be able to set up the tremol-no to do divebombs only, and when doing this you should be able to tune your guitar down as well, but not up.

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong, this thing seems really cool for someone that needs the flexibility (maybe a covers guy who does a mix of country with a lot of double stops and rock who pulls up on the bar sometimes). But considering what I hear Mega play, I'd think that simply blocking the trem would work just fine for him and would be basically free. I don't pull up on the bar very often, and I'm not big on double stops, so I'm fine that way as well... Steve
Members Matter-Eater Lad Posted January 5, 2006 Members Posted January 5, 2006 Try this. I have them on about 4 of my guitars.http://www.schaller-guitarparts.de/1231.htm Another thing I use in my favorite guitar is a WD Music TS1 Trem Stabiliser.http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002GJS9Q/qid=1136492729/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xglna/103-4704536-4433405?v=glance&n=507846 it's great because it provides a zero point for the block to rest, yet you can still pull up if you wish, sort "breaking through" the zero point.
