Members danhops
I'm looking to possibly get an attenuator just so I can squeeze a touch more juice out of some of my amps for recording purposes. Looking for the most transparent one. Any help would be appreciated:)
Members illini
I am a fan of the THD Hotplates. They are very transparent. Down side is they do not switch between ohms. So you will need to buy two or three depending on your needs. I do find that my ear notices a difference once I go past 8db. But for recording the mic doesn't seem to notice. Members vlad
I'd like to help, but I've only really used a Hotplate... FWIW, it sounds very good with my Super Lead.
Members GCDEF
The best one I've used has been Weber's Minimass. Cheapest too. I've also used a Hot Plate and a Power Soak. They both tended to sound fizzy under heavy attenuation. The Minimass loses a bit of high end when you really attenuate heavily, but still manages to keep the closest sound to the amp in my experience.
