Members doomsdaymachine
How in the hell can companies say this, when they ALL have the SAME PRICE? I want to buy a Satin Ebony Faded V, but I guess I have to pay full price of $689 for it if I want it. MF and Music123 are the only places that carry them, and both $689. So, what's my incentive to buy from either - "Guaranteed Highest Price Possible" is what I say. Not to mention, both have been notoriously {censored}ing up orders lately... They've got you by the nads.
Members Beergoblin
I find it amazing that companies still try to snag you with the same old lines they've been using for years. It's got to be working to some extent on some people obviously or they wouldn't be doing it, but some of the things they say (telemarketers more specifically) blows my f'n mind. They talk to you like you're in the 2nd grade
Members 2B
Buy some beers and stuff on the beach, and You'll get "special price for You". Works every time when I just have to get a cold beer. And I just know it taste even better as it is special priced too! Cool stuff.

Members Kenny Powers
well when I bought my tv from best buy last week, I brought in a print out of a store that had the tv for hundreds less. they would only match the price if I included the shipping price (200, since it was out of state). even with the biggest discounts they have offered on the tv with coupons etc I still saved a few hundred bones! I waited on hold last week for nearly 35 minutes....then called back after getting pissed thinking they just sit there playing madden or something? Anyway, called back and waited another 20.....waste of my day!!!But they do price match or usually beat. Musicians Friend Price match is {censored}. You fill out this way long form and email them and they never get back to you. I still think zzounds.com is best....but I haven't used them in awhile. Members TheStoveMan
I've been to my local Guitar Center a couple times in the last two weeks, and I was surprised to find that their prices on some things I had been looking out for were actually cheaper at GC than online at MF or Music123.. could be because of the "post-holiday inventory clearance" or whatever. These big companies do tend to have the lowest price on a lot of stuff-- the locally owned music stores don't compete with them really. Interestingly though, while guitars and stuff are more expensive at the locally owned place I visit every now and again, they sell their strings for cheaper than guitar center. Members Scafeets
I've used MF and 123 with some success. They do screw up a lot of orders, though. In both cases (MF and 123) I found dealing with customer service via email was way more effective than the phone approach. Speaking of approaches: I'm fortunate enough to live in an area where a couple of the local stores have started matching online prices. File it under "It doesn't hurt to ask" -- Sometimes, they can't get special items, and sometimes they can't match...but it's always worth the effort.
