Members Kesa Posted January 8, 2006 Members Posted January 8, 2006 I usually have 2 -4 oz vodka and 5 alive's after work every day to take the edge off.
Members desiderium Posted January 8, 2006 Members Posted January 8, 2006 my first year in college i did nothing but drink... and as soon as i quit school i stopped drinking for almost a year. Then I started drinking a bit again, then a little more, and then a little more. When I moved to Denver, I started drinkijng just wine and the occasional beer (that's where I developed the taste for both). I moved back the month before my 21st, and since then I drink a lot sometimes and not a lot other times. I usually work weekends, so the time I do the most drinking is thursday nights with my friends after class. we go to our favourite bar and stay out until 1 or 2. as for how much i drink, it varies. I can easily down a bottle of vodka over the course of a night and i don't share it. if its beer, it depends on whether it's by the pint or by the liter or if it's bottles. 10 or 12 bottles of beer is about average for me... but the most I've ever had was 4 liters of beer.

Members BigBad Posted January 8, 2006 Members Posted January 8, 2006 For the last couple years I've been drinking 4 or 5 nights out of the week, average 10-14 beers each of those nights. It doesn't affect work, I've never gained extra weight, but I have without a doubt practiced much less than I used to. As of recent I've limited it to weekends only, same with smoking cigerettes. I've felt much better, I'm considering cutting back more. I find myself practicing much more, as well as reading and hitting the gym on a more consistant basis. For what it's worth I'm 28 now. I've had clusters of years where I rarely touched it and others (like the last couple) where I've chugged without a second thought. It's been on and off since I was 19, bad break ups usually bring it out more - being single seems to make one give less of a {censored}. Someone has already pointed out the aspects of not drinking while in a crowd of people who are, and he's right on the {censored}ing money. I am clearly no saint, but to sum it all up - {censored} public opinion and be careful.
Members cadillacman Posted January 8, 2006 Members Posted January 8, 2006 well...lol...i usually drink a quart of miller w/ a spicy v-8 mixed in it ... but ..the other night ...oh boy ...i had a fifth of jim beam & coke mixed to the head .....there is about 2 inches left in the bottom of the fifth...felt like doodoo the next day though... i went to the casino on new years eve night ..there was 3 bands ,in different places in it , 1 jazz , 1 blues & 1 rock/funk ... i was the driver ..so i had 1 oduols ...non - alchoholic brew ...i used to mix those with v8's & have tomato beers ....k
Members Bradman006 Posted January 8, 2006 Members Posted January 8, 2006 I get totally ripped everyday.Usually start around 10:00 am with a beer or two with brekkie. Then I go onto the Jim Beam/Jacks. Then go a few beers, some cask wine, and end up drinking Jagermeister and Red bull as the day goes on to keep me frisky and alert. The Jager bombs are great. They really help you concentrate behind the wheel after a long day. A couple of black tooth grins to send me to sleep and I'm done. Ahhhh, I'm thirsty. Cheers.NOT.I drink a few most weekends and have a beer everynow and then when it's hot. Like almost every day in summer
Members Pepi Posted January 8, 2006 Members Posted January 8, 2006 2-3 beers a day. 6-8 on weekends. I really think a few beers a day is good for you.
Members Murdoch Posted January 10, 2006 Members Posted January 10, 2006 after my gf died, i drank like a fish every night just so i could get some sleep without my demons raiding me in the dark. it's calmed down quite a bit since then, but i still occasionally tie one on and let loose. most times it's whiskey when i do.

There were so many positive side effects in the short run and long run that it's rediculous how much time and money I spent on the stuff so I could have a headache in the morning. Oh yeah, I quit smoking at the same time while I was getting a grip on my life. If you smoke or drink heavy just quit both for a week and start any kind of exercise (skipping rope...anything!...who cares), play your guitar more, eat a fruit or vegetable everytime you get hungry so you don't gain a bunch of weight, and watch how good you feel. Good luck.
Members Kung-Fool Posted January 10, 2006 Members Posted January 10, 2006 I don't drink very often. On occasion I'll have a 1 or 2 beers, 3 max. I hate the way I feel the next day when I drink too much. It's just not as fun as it was when I was 19-25.

Members STRAT TOOL Posted January 10, 2006 Members Posted January 10, 2006 I've been sober since 8/8/99 I've never felt "picked on" for not drinking. Quite the opposite, most people give me alot of credit.
Members Fendercaster Posted January 10, 2006 Members Posted January 10, 2006 I had three drinks last year (at my niece's wedding reception), none the year before. I got so drunk a few New Years Eves ago, that I can't stand the smell of whiskey any more. I never was a beer drinker, so whether I'm playing out or listening to another band or just sitting at home, I'll stick with my ginger ale.
Members danbronson Posted January 10, 2006 Members Posted January 10, 2006 first off, i don't believe many of you and think you're trying to show off how much you drink...which is probably the lamest thing i've read today, next to the 'women can't play guitar as well as men because men are better at everything' posts. if you guys ARE being truthful, then you've got some serious problems that you may want to work on. i probably have 2 to 5 drinks per week, depending on the week. sometimes i don't have a drink for a couple of weeks, other weeks are 'party weeks' and i'll drink as much as 15 in a weekend. both cases are rare though. that said, i LOVE drinking (though i can take or leave being drunk) and other than a good beer (guiness, alexander keith's, grasshopper...) i love scotch, whiskey, jag and especially gin. can't drink vodka or run without feeling a bit ill though.
Members tlbonehead Posted January 10, 2006 Members Posted January 10, 2006 Seldom. Never had an urge for much alcohol.
Members rockon1000 Posted January 10, 2006 Members Posted January 10, 2006 Stopped drinking in 1990. Best thing I EVER did.
Members cloudnine Posted January 10, 2006 Members Posted January 10, 2006 Uh...I cant even drink 10-15 glasses of WATER in a day much less alcohol. I dont know how you all do it.Me, I dont even like the taste of 99% of alcoholic drinks, and I'll take a soda over any of them.My idea of a good time isnt getting smashed, but hey, thats just me
