Juno Diy?

I'm hoping for something exciting like a new VA (well, exciting...), maybe a V-synth GT rackmount, V-piano technology integrated in something else (though it's too early for that). Maybe a keytar without integrated sounds?

I want something like this but half the price:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VStudio700/

Or, something like this but a little cooler:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VStudio100/

$4200 is too much for the first one. If it combined something like Sonic Cell with an interface and a lesser control surface I would be interested.

cheap as in wasting less money?

in marketing, they think the countdown ' builds excitement ' and gets folks interested

without having to show the actual product.

like a striptease 5000 miles away

good point :)

I just wish they made something like a hybrid of the JD-800 and JP-8000... but make it so you can load your own WAVs.

thats a good idea. most of product marketing is what they can sell in a certain volume based on cost. Sounds boring but they have to make a profit

Did anyone try to move their computer clock forward to September 9th to see if the products appear?

Yes, I saw the main new product. It's a microroland, with 37 baby keys.:thu:

You mean sorta like the V-Synth? Except with more sliders and analog filters?

Countdown to mediocrity?

Not getting my hopes up for anything exciting or groundbreaking but wouldn't mind being wrong.

Well Roland had nothing at Summer NAMM. So maybe this is how they're testing the waters for new product announcements.

Dave Smith has been releasing his new products online - unannounced - but still online. I guess Roland cottoned onto the idea and added hype.

Still, I'm looking forward to it. "Professional Stage Instrument" could mean anything from an updated Fantom to a V-Synth to a Juno Stage to, dare I speculate, a new Jupiter.

Anyway, we'll all find out September 1st.
