Would anybody be opposed to having an official FS, WTB, WTT forum?

This is what I'm talking about. That sounds like a great idea. Maybe splitting it up into 3 boards (FS, WTB, WTT) wouldn't be neccessary as long as people keep the tags in their thread titles. The feedback system would ensure that people know who they're buying from, and I'm pretty sure word about certain forumites would get around quickly if they're not reasonable to deal with.

I'm all for that, but it would be better if it's separated into amps/cabs, guitars, etc. like TGP.

This sounds like a pretty good idea too, since I know a lot of people like to browse spam threads just because they may find a deal too good to pass up and may not want to go through extra threads about gear not even in the same category as what they're interested in.

:D

If we all went over there, we would destroy that forum.

They would have to close it down. Haha.

+ 1 to both.

Over time, I've seen a few people post things in a moniker-suicide post/thread that actually seem to merit banning, but I'd never report anybody for anything I can think of, though maybe something would come up I haven't ever thought of. Even then, I'd never report anyone, and it seems that people on the forum have a good way of dealing with things and shouldn't require a mod unless it's a thread with porn that a lot of posters will have no problem with. :D

And having a girlie section would save the time of doing a search for "Friday" or "Girlie." ;)

Phil, I think a lot more business would get done without stickies because the majority of people interested in making deals here don't even bother with the hassle of looking through them.

I like individual spam threads, but I also have little problem checking the sticky one.

I'm not sure that it's common knowledge that the posts per page can be set to 100, and until I found that out I used to avoid reading the huge threads except for about the first and last pages. Now it's a lot easier, and the spam threads are fairly easy, too.

Still, sometimes I don't think about deals unless I see a specific thread pop up about a particular amp, pedal, etc. for sale. I see most spam threads leave the forum pretty fast, but those that don't are usually pretty interesting for one reason or another, and often other material gets into spam threads, sometimes educational. I could see spam threads being a problem if they took up most of the front page, but I never see that -- or at least that last hardly any amount of time. The only problem I can see is corporations wondering about spam as mentioned, but then it should be obvious that there's a major difference between individuals spamming and major companies spamming. Their spam belongs in the ads at the top of the page, in some of the reviews sections, etc..

Just my opinion, and it's not going to kill me to see no unstickied spams; still, I think it adds something to the forum; not really that big a deal to me, though.

Here is a problem none of you have mentioned. Each forum on HC is treated differently and the majority of members who are regulars at the diff forums - amps, guitars, etc. have their own "rules". Absolutely no individual spam threads are allowed on the elec guitar forum. If you post one, 10 assholes will jump down your throat and it will be removed in under 5 minutes. I guess that's why the mods have to try to keep some kind of uniformity. I personally don't have a problem with the stickied spam and here's why- you look at it and remember where you left off, come back and only look at the new stuff.....if everyone posted their FS stuff there and the buyers all went there too, why wouldn't that work?

I agree.

It's cool that members offer gear cheaper here than on ebay...the spam thread sticky just gets wat too huge, I wouldn't bother posting anything I have for sale in there...nobody will look through all that...I don't...there needs to be a better way.

Guess I can't buy/sell gear here anymore with my forum friends. :(

Nah its probably William Jefferson, Democrat, Louisiana behind this. All his bribe money coming in is from MF and he bribes mods to do his bidding.

But probably not. He's too busy using helicopters to go get his stuff than save Katrina victims. :D

God will this day ever end.....6505 is beggin to be plugged in.
