Members IKE Posted June 26, 2006 Members Share Posted June 26, 2006 I just won one of these off of Ebay last night, it is the 60 watt 1x12 version, got it for $124, thought it was a good deal for an all tube amp. I haven't never played through one though, but I digged the Vintage Club series when they first came out. Anyone ever played through one of these Turbo Valves? Members Sheraton Posted April 19, 2007 Members Share Posted April 19, 2007 I just picked up the Turbo Valve 50 watt head, TV-50H for a price that was too cheap to pass up at the local Guitar Center. I have an observation/question about these: Mine seems to be voiced extremely bright. Also, the Bass is very loud with the EQ flat. I have to turn the Presence to zero, the Treble to about 1/3 and the Bass to about 1/3 to get a decent sound. I have tried several different sets of power tubes, both 6L6's and EL34's (this amp is self biasing?) The biggest issue is that the highs are "piercing".
