I totally understand your post, but I find it offensive.

I'm shaking my head at my own logic...dammit.

But really....I WAS looking for a back-up....but maybe one that offered something a LITTLE different, while still offering SOME of the characteristics. Channel swithing or FX...just in case my pre-amps fried....savvy?

But the backups were either lacking or too expensive to use as a back up. NOT SteveVHT here (no offense intended).

Cool?

Oh yeah, totally, and no offense intended. I just used to own a Single Recto and...y'know...ugh.... :D

Ever tried a red knob Twin or 'evil' Twin? Or even Cyber Twin?

I've tried a red knob Twin, and my friend had a Twin II.

There is no comparison....for what I like. Those amps had a higher high end....no sponge or feel ....if that makes any sense.

Have you thought about getting a Fender Bassman or Bandmaster silverface head? No reverb, but they sound good and can be had pretty cheap. All you need is a cab and you have a nice backup.

I wish the musicman HD130 I tried out 6 years ago had tubes that weren't dying in it.:(
