Members onelife
I was having trouble with my silverface Princeton Reverb and discovered one of the 6V6 output tubes was cold - it was not heating up in the amp. In an effort to troubleshoot the amp, I put in a pair of 6L6s and it worked fine. It will be a couple of weeks before I can replace the 6V6 set. Is it safe for me to use the amp with 6L6s while I wait or could I cause problems in the Princeton? By the way, when that amp is working like it should, it has a beautiful sound through a Jensen P10R.
Members STRAT TOOL
I'd say yank those tubes and wait for the right ones. You will fry something. 6V6's have a higher plate voltage I believe.
