Members carbon111
You can put any drive you want in the $250 barebones model. Without a motherboard, CPU or power supply, it won't do much.
Members DJ RAZZ
If I must own a PC with Windows I would love to give this a whirl, if I could get the specs up. Imagine this running, Ableton or Sonar live. Maybe just so I could use My Roland stuff for once without cursing them for not providing MAC compatibility. Does the monitor come with it? Members Synthaholic
I've been using Amiga Forever since v1.0 (1997), and it keeps getting better. You can't beat a full blown A4000 on your laptop for $29.95. It comes with a ton of games installed, and emulations of every Amiga and every configuration. I still run Music-X on it, and Scala. And they recently released C64 Forever for the Commodore 64, with support for 20,000 games. It's only $14.95, but they also have a free 73 meg download with limited features, if you just want to play with it. Pay the $15 and it unlocks the whole thing. You can actually run Workbench 1.3 and 3.1 simultaneously!
Members plaid_emu
Can't you?http://www.atarimac.com/atari800macx.phphttp://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-ninja_3714.htmland this may give you happy joy feelieshttp://c64i.com/toplist/ Hey, very cool! Thanks. I'm going to give this a shot tomorrow. The weather's too nice here today and I'm going to the rock quarry with some friends later. Last time I looked into an 800xl emulator a few years back, I had trouble finding an app that was straightforward and I couldn't seem to find the Ninja game anywhere either. I really appreciate that. Now I'll have to go digging in the basement for my Macally USB game pad!
Members liliththekitten
thought the barebones one came with a mobo but it doesn't. Oh well.
Members Awake77
The barebones case will fit any mini-ITX motherboard. So you could rig it up with an i7 quad & SSD drive if you really wanted to (and probably did some mods for proper cooling) Personally, I think its awesome and may pick up the barebones C64 for my live rig, instead of a new laptop. Might be pretty neat, 'new' C64 + Ableton controlling my 'old' C64 with Mssiah cartridge Depends on the build quality of the hardware really...
