Members FearMeWithMyLP
So I saw this Rectoverb on Ebay that is a Series 1 (noted by the lack of reverb on the front panel as well as missing Raw setting), and the seller claims that there is a bias switch in the back for the tubes. I could have sworn that only the Series 2 had this switch. Is it possible that this Series 1 Rectoverb may have a bias switch - such as it was manufactured in between the ending of the Series 1 and the release of the Series 2?? It would be awesome if it did have the switch because I want an EL34 monster! Btw - he had pictures of the amp, but not one of the switch itself. It is coming from a consignment shop, so they are probably not gear specialists. He will get back to me in 2 days. I'm just curious now.

Members FearMeWithMyLP
thanks kmanick, that's what I thought about the amp. Is it possible to have gotten the amp modded for bias switching?
Members kmanick
He may have but I've never seen one with that mod before.I have EL34's in mine and I f'n love it. They come up on Ebay quite a bit, I'd just be patient if you know this is the amp you wnat.

Members vic
why does everyone prefer their el34's for their rectoverb or tremoverb ive got 6l6s in a tremo and im not looking back
Members kmanick
I like the El34's in my Rectoverb because I think they respond better at lower volumes and they add a touch of upper mids to the tone. It's sjut a little bit of a diffrent flavor. If I was gigging with this amp I'd probably run 6L6's because I think 6l6's sound better with more volume. I'm primarily using it at home right now so the better the tone I can get at the lower the volume the better.I need to try some KT-77's as those tubes really brought my JSX to life.I played a roadster this past weekend and I absolutely loved it (6L6's).
