"Tell Me Later"

Came up with this kind of out of the blue...well not really. My friend Josh has a pretty demanding girlfriend, and we make fun of him getting whipped by her. This song's kind of inspired by their relationship. He doesn't really hate her, but I needed something to rhyme with "later", and the song kind of flowed from those first two lines.

Tell me later

why do you hate her?

Even her name...

Said what's inside her

Basically

Lighter fluid's the same

She made you walk around the room

in a thousand circles

The shape of the red moon

until your face turned purple

I shudder at the doom

that she fed you purposefully

So tell me later

why do you hate her?

Not just a name

"Couldn't be righter

I'm not the fighter

But I take the blame"

So tell me later

Is it you hate her

because you're the same?

You're just a player

in this slayer's

twisted up game

She made you walk around the room

in a thousand circles

The shape of the red moon

until your face turned purple

I shudder at the doom

that she fed you purposefully

You said you'd walked around that room

for more than a little

the time that you had spent

with your head on a spindle

You saw the same rotation from the middle

endlessly

So tell me later

Tell me later

Tell me later

Who was she?

What do you guys think? I hope to have the song (possibly with drums this time) together by the end of the week.

I think those lyrics look really good to me. I like the moon/circle/colors bit, the internal rhyming, which reinforces a lot of the meaning, I think, and makes it fall of the tongue well (not that I actually read it out loud -- but that's always a good idea when you're evaluating either poetry or prose).

I'm really looking forward to the recording!
