Members JC-TONEQUEST
Anyone have the tube layout of the Hughes & Kettner Triamp MKII? I am looking to see what pre-amp tubes do what. I would really like to add some shimmer & chime to AMP1B in particular. I was hoping it would be more Voxy but it is really kind of dull and lifeless IMO. Any suggestions for pre-amp tubes? Members guitarman967
I liked all the Channels of that amp. My favorite was AMP2. Very tonefull.I would love to have another but the insides scare the hell out of me.
Members Dropsix
T00bz 1-3 are designated to channel 1 but the only t00b that is solely for 1B is t00b 2 as show by this confusing (to me) list --------------------------------------------------- Amp.1A and 1B manifest faults/have failed = tube 3 (E83CC) Amp.1B manifests faults/has failed = tube 2 (E83CC) Amp.2A and 2B manifest faults/have failed = tube 5 (E83CC) Amp.3A and 3B manifest faults/have failed = tube 4 (E83CC) Amp.3A manifests faults/has failed = tube 6 (E83CC) Amp.3B manifests faults/has failed = tube 7 (E83CC) or 8 (E83CC) Amp.2 and 3 manifest faults/have failed completely = tube 4 (E83CC) Amp.1 and 2 manifest faults/have failed completely = tube 1 (E83CC) All channels manifest faults/have failed = tube 1.8 (E83CC) or High Grade "9" , or power tubes Amp. 1A and 1B = tube 3 (E83CC) Amp. 1B = tube 2 (E83CC) Amp. 2A and 2B = tube 5 (E83CC) Amp. 3A and 3B = tube 4 (E83CC) Amp. 3A = tube 6 (E83CC) Amp. 3B = tube 7 (E83CC) or 8 (E83CC) Amp. 2 and 3 = tube 4 (E83CC) Amp. 1 and 2 = tube 1 (E83CC) All channels = tube 1.8 (E83CC) or High Grade "9", or power tubes --------------------------------------------------------- So many t00bz
Members bankboy
If I remember correctly tubes 1 and 4....the tubes that are under cans, should only have High Grade preamp tubes, as opposed to "regular" tubes. I think Tube 1 is "V1" for amps 1 and 2, and Tube 4 is "V1" for Amps 2 and 3.......
Members JC-TONEQUEST
Anyone tried different preamp tubes to get more chime out of AMP1B?
