It's just about stupefying how incredibly muffed up the US Patent & Copyright Office has become in recent years.

 

It took them forever -- with many unscheduled delays -- to start to get their online registration operation together.

 

 

With regard to copyright issues, bad enough.

 

But the patent side is so ridiculously out of their league. They appear utterly incompetent when it comes to understanding basic technology issues. Utterly incompetent. And the result has been a long string of groaner patents that should NEVER have been granted and that are now bollixing up the technology industry as various 'patent-squatters' and tech-sector parasites file junk lawsuit after junk lawsuit making outrageous claims to 'protect' patents that should never have been granted in a million freakin' years.
