The Phoenix Odyssey - My new ambient solo project

I'll go ahead and post this in songwriting.

Hey guys, for the past few months I've been creating stuff on my computer with my M-Audio Axiom and Reason.

I've named my solo band thing "The Phoenix Odyssey".

Check it out if you feel led to. Thanks for looking.

The Phoenix Odyssey is a concept band, and each album tells parts of an overall storyline. Home Is A Luxury is the first part of the Druid saga.

Read my myspace blogs about each song if you are curious about whats going on behind the scenes.

Instruments used:

M-Audio Axiom MIDI keyboard

Fender Classic 70's Jazz bass

Acoustic guitar on one track

that's it. so it's nothing mind-blowing. I feel like my music is like background, soundtrack type stuff. It's really cool to listen to while relaxing or studying.

Try it out.

Thanks friends. I expect some off-topic/douchebag remarks, because that is very common on HC. So I won't get upset.

Introducing the HCSWF Robo-Greeter Beta...

Text version:

First a big, friendly cut-n-paste welcome to the Songwriting Forum!

The basic mission of the forum is the discussion of the art and craft of songwriting and offering assistance with feedback and constructive criticism on new songs and other works in progress. Of course, giving thoughtful comment requires some time and energy.

Like so much in life -- what you get out of it will likely depend on what you put in...

I hope you'll share your insight with others when they're looking for critiques -- it's a great way to let people get to know you. And the more that people know you as someone who is willing to help out, the more eager they'll be to help you when you're looking for some good ol' constructive crit.

It takes time and effort to listen to and comment on someone's work. Most folks prefer to do it at a point in the creative process when it will actually make a difference. That's why we restrict the creation of threads to request for feedback on works in progress, as well as to general discussions of songwriting technique and practice. (You can read rules/guidelines sticky to get an idea of how to get the most out of the forum.)

And, of course, since it's work to give feedback, people are probably more inclined to put that effort in to help those who they recognize as someone who contributes the same type of effort to others...

If folks think you're only here to promote yourself, they'll most likely just skip right over you.
