"I'll Always Have the Blues" vs. "Before You Put Out the Light"

The piano one was nice, but I love the guitar one. I know it was a demo - and if it were up to me I'd say keep it that way. The lo-fi aesthetic fits perfectly and gives the song an earthy grit that would probably be lost with polished production. As of now it feels like an intimate window into a man's hearache. Great whistle melody by the way. I could hear Madlib making a hot beat from it.

If It were on iTunes, I'd buy it as is.

Both are great, strong enough that building an album around their similarity would work.

On the piano version, I really like the "eyes/alibis" rhyme and then how you squeezed "realize" into the next line.

I'm with Clifton that the demo feel to the first one actually suits the feel and story.

Wow, Clifton,

Thanks for listening.

You've nailed exactly what I want the tune to sound like when I record it. I'll probably add some tracks, but the acoustic guitar will be central to the arrangement, and the other tracks will be just as natural and unpolished.
