Hi guys, I never posted around here, mostly because I couldn't find the means to record my own songs, but I recently happened upon a Tascam DP-008 that my friend let me borrow in exchange for me lending him my bass amp. So anyways, here are the not-so-perfect results of me toying around with it for a few weeks. Tempo issues and mistakes are mostly untouched due to my unfimiliarity with the DP-008, but hopefully the songs are at least listenable, an hey, maybe enjoyable? Well, here you guys go.

Hey, ak...

I braved Mediafire to DL "Arab Punk." :D BTW, oldgitplayer is right -- the more obstacles one puts in front of people, the harder it is to get them to listen to one's music. A lot of folks like sites that feature easy or no nonsense onsite players rather than downloads. (Here's a list of music hosting sites, if you're interested. A lot of folks like these guys but be aware that there is apparently no way to remove a song once posted. And make sure to read the fine print on anyone you use.)

My favorite parts of "Arab Punk" had a nice riff-driven energy. Striking me maybe a little less favorably were some chord changes that sounded a little stiff, as though your obvious and conceptually admirable effort to avoid the predictable had forced your hand, harmonically. There were times in the 7 plus minutes when I felt more foreground, in the sense of a vocal, or perhaps a melodic motif might have helped keep better forward momentum.

Arab Punk was well done - mixed so that everything is properly balanced. Lots of really great changes in the song. It was long so if "I" was going to shorten it I would simply shorten the longer sections (just not repeat as many times) but keep all the flavor. You're the writer so you decide :-) I think the drums were my favorite part, although all the playing and writing was great. I would never guess you are a novice to the equipment ....
