Members Nysteen
Hello I have a Peavey Delta Blues amp and I would really love to be able to plug my headphones into the amp and play silently, but it does not have a headphones jack. Can i somehow plug my headphones into the extension speaker jack and mute the amp itself so I only get the sound in my headphones?
Members newholland
no. wrong impedance almost undoubtedly.
Members jn062181
Nope, not happening. If you need to play silently using that amplifier, your best bet would probably be an attenuator that has a headphone jack.

Members teemuk
Nope. Not only will you blow your ears, you will also blow your headphones and very likely your amp as well.
Members Flogger59
I came up with that idea for my bass player in 1975. Worked great until the smoke obscured his head.
Members Nysteen
Thanks a lot for all the input. I will take a look at an attenuator with a headphones jack. Is there anything special to be aware of when buying an attenuator? Such as compatibility with the amp somehow?
Members peehoo
It must handle more power than the amp and the impedance must match. Some have selectable impedance and some don't.

Members Nysteen
Ok so I've been looking around for an attenuator and I came across this Weber Headphone Tab.It seems to give me exactly the functionality i need, but my amp has an impendance of 16 ohms (and 30W) and this attenuator says: "The load switch switches between the normal speaker for the amplifier and the internal dummy load, which is nominally 8 ohms. Most amplifiers will tolerate a 2 to 1 impedance mismatch." I guess this means that it should work on 16 ohms amps as well then?Do you reckon it would work or would it be better to continue my search?
