Members lpwcruzr
I have a chance to pick up a mesa roadster 2x12 combo at a really good price. Considering that this amp has been at my house since my buddy bought it, I know it's been taken care of. BUT, I love channel 1 and 2 of this amp. But I think Mesa blew it with the cabinet design. Channel 3 and 4 sound like your playing out of a tin can to me. I have run it through my mode 4 cab, (vintage 30s and oversized) and it sounds so much better. The cabinet is really small on this combo. Anyone got some suggestions on different speakers they may have tried with this amp or noticed the same thing?? Members LithiumZero
I don't have that problem at all. In fact, I sold my Mesa 4x12 because it wasn't necessary after I got the combo. Are you playing at bedroom volume? While I think it can sound good at low volumes, it really sounds huge when cranked up to gig volumes.
