Members surfacetoair
hi there, total noob here, but wondering if anyone could chime in for a question i have... i have a 65 ri fender twin reverb, and wondering if i'd 1. be able to run that into a marshall 4X12 cab? i googled it, but nothing came up under fender twin reverb and marshall cab... 2. be able to run both the combo speakers, and the cab speakers at the same time? 3. is this at all practical? i mean in that, would it give me good tonal variation having the open back fender paired with the closed back marshall cab? or would this sound like {censored}, apples and orange situation? thanks! Members jhall
I do it all the time. I use mine into a Marshall 4x12 split into two banks of 2. They are 16 ohm cones so this way I'm still running the amp at 4 ohms bypassing the internal speakers. Now If I wire the internals in series yeilding 16 ohms and run the 4x12 in series parallel also yeilding 16 ohms, that's a total for the amp of 8 ohms which is perfectly fine for that amp.Nowadays I just run my DRRI into said 4x12 split into two 8ohm pairs netting 4 ohms and that delivers plenty for my needs.
