Members Seano Porno
Question for those that know more about Gibsons than I do: What about the shape of the truss-rod cover? Those I've seen have a 3-part 'wave' shape at the end nearest the nut. This one looks to be a straight line, almost flush with the nut. Another indicator of a fake, or is that a variation Gibson use? Good spot OP. It's hard to see in those photos, but I'd guess that it is an aproximation of the correct shape, but it's just squashed down to accomedate the position of the hole for the screw? Or it's even a fake screw as the trus channel goes all the way to the nut like oher 'Imports' which have 3 screw covers? who knows?
Members satannica
Something about a fool and their money... Well that's not entirely fair! I wouldn't have known. I didn't know about my fake until it was spelled out for me and a real one put right next to it. Fakes often aren't that obvious, most people want a nice used guitar and aren't expecting some scamming {censored} to be somewhere in the mix. Glad you're the brightest person on earth though to not be taken by such a ruse! Your life must be awesome
Members murdock
when the buyer post feedback on how great the guitar is, we can link him to this thread and rain on his parade

Second off, the diamond on the headstock looks out of proportion with other real Gibsons.
