Members DoubleBarrel
yeah that's how I do it too. I agree although I rarely use an external EQ, but if I wanted to use one, it would certainly go through the loop perfect as a solo boost, if your amp doesn't have one
Members soundgardener75
If I had an amp that didn't have an effects loop or I'm mainly using pedals for od/distortion, then upfront. Otherwise, modulations stay in th loop. Seems like my G System has the phasers and envelope filters in the front of the chain, so I got my work cut out for me. Members Kardula
on my peavey I believe i preffered it in the loop for clean and out front for distortion. Need to try it on my rivera
Members Shask
I tend to like them out front because it doesn't totally take over the tone and ruin it. Out front is more of the subtle, Deftones style Chorused sound...
Members Attercop
Always in front, in the loop sounds fake to me. I like my chorus to be subtle, with or without dirt.
Members theAntihero
In front. In the loop it seems to get to hi fI for my tastes. Especially with gain. But I hardly use it, anyway. I agree with this although sometimes for cleans a hi-fi sound is cool.
Members Mesa/Kramer
Time based effects in Loop, all others out front. (Delay. Reverb, Flange, Chorus)

Filters and wahs are before gain on the G-system, but all mods (phase, chorus, flange, vibrato etc) are after gain. It really would have been nice to be able to move the order of effects around on this thing!
Members paulintheuk
Don't own an amp with a loop so no option unfortunately! Also I rarely use Chorus

Members chromatica17
Which do you guys prefer? I like the differences you get from each spot. I'm running it with both clean and distorted tones. You must put it in the loop.K??

Members Riffraff12571
In the loop. All time based effects should normally be in the loop. There are times when a dirty effect is desirable, like a delay in certain circumstances but for the most part they should be in the loop post preamp gain. Members la0tsu
I keep mine in the loop. Not so much because I prefer the sound of it in the loop as because I use it to split my signal for stereo. Putting it after the preamp allows me to slave a second amp to the first one.
