Cool Tuning Using a Kyser Capo

Hi, all!

This may be old hat to some, but I found this out while playing with someone this past week. If you take the Kyser spring-loaded capo, and flip it upside down so the black pad is on the back of the neck, and the small, clear pad is covering the A, D, and G strings at the 2nd fret, you get an open Esus4 tuning, which sound really cool. You may have to trim the clear pad of the capo some if you have a narrow-necked guitar, but I didn't have to on my Seagull (wide neck).

This creates some cool chord voicings while giving you an open tuning.

This may be old to some, and let me know if it is. However, if someone can find a use for this, have fun!

Silly me!
;)

imagine what a monkey you'd've looked if you went up and told him that's not how you use a capo!

That's ironic... but I bought my first capo last night.... I was going to get a cheapo Fender but I didn't know they had those Kyser spring clamp ons there. Last night I fooled with it and discovered this exact thing.... strange... we all must think alike :D

Indeed...almost did, until I heard what he was doing with it!

Got him hooked up with another opening slot next week...he's saving up to buy his own portable PA!

OMG, another acoustic picker unleashed on an unsuspecting world!
