Members Master Posted February 16, 2004 Members Posted February 16, 2004 Man, that was very, very nice:cool:
Members kwakatak Posted February 16, 2004 Members Posted February 16, 2004 Very nice! I found a partial tab for that one but it called for a capo at the 7th fret. I like your version better because I prefer the ringing of open strings; it takes better advantage of the guitar's tonal range IMO. BTW, speaking of Beatles tunes, you should take a crack at the Laurence Juber version of 'In My Life' - there's a CD track and tab for it in this month's Fingerstyle Guitar magazine. I'm not familiar with his work, but apart from some little tricks that he throws at you toward the end it's fun to mess around with. I'm also interested in finding some decent tab for 'Norwegian Wood'.

Geez, I forgot about Juber's In My Life in FG. Gotta add it to the list. I forgot, is it DADGAD?

He plays it pretty freely and arpeggiates the chords which is not reflected in the notation.
Members seven7 Posted February 17, 2004 Members Posted February 17, 2004 horrible. just kidding! ha.. nice playing as always tom. i'm on my second listen right now. also, this is the best recorded sound i remember hearing from you with the dualie. sounds great man. looks like you've found the right combination of equipment and processing to get the job done well. p.s. ~ i think les wants some clips from you and i when he gets around to it. he's busy with other stuff in the shop right now and has a lot going on there, so it might be a while.
Members LittleBrother Posted February 18, 2004 Members Posted February 18, 2004 Tom, Good job man. Thanks for posting D.
Members stratosaurus Posted February 18, 2004 Members Posted February 18, 2004 Great job!!! The more I hear the Taylor guitars, the more I want one, especially when I hear one that sounds this good. It's also nice to see that, done right, a minimal use of equipment can produce an excellent sound. Being basically an electric player for 30+ years, I have just recently gotten into playing acoustic. I bought my 1st acoustic about a year ago & it's a whole different ballgame. Wish I'd have done it a long time ago, but it has renewed my interest in playing. I've never done much fingerpicking, but that's all I want to do on the acoustic! Anyway...love the song, smooth!.....your playing is definitely a booster for a beginner like me. It's on my playlist now. Thanks!
Members orsino Posted February 18, 2004 Author Members Posted February 18, 2004 Thanks Guys!! I'm not really thrilled with all the Taylor guitar bodies. But, the Jumbos have a lot more depth AND the characteristic Taylor brightness. The revoiced models really do sound fuller IMO though.
