Members SurrealMcCoy Posted March 22, 2004 Members Posted March 22, 2004 If I have an acoustic shipped from a colder weather enviroment (40 degrees) to a warmer climate (80 degrees).............should I allow a 24 hour period of adjustment before I un-pack (as I would if the instrument was arriving to a colder climate? Thanks.......... Alan
Members seven7 Posted March 22, 2004 Members Posted March 22, 2004 yah, same principles apply. the temp needs to adjust either way.
Members LittleBrother Posted March 22, 2004 Members Posted March 22, 2004 Especially on Lacquer. If its a thick Poly finish I doubt it matters nearly as much. The Lacquer finishes will spider crack though.
Members madog99 Posted March 23, 2004 Members Posted March 23, 2004 would be really hard looking at that box for 24 hours though and not rip it open
Members buddyboy Posted March 23, 2004 Members Posted March 23, 2004 Let's test those theories to be sure! LB, send me a few of your favorites and I'll see if I wait 24 hours without me cracking! My grandfather taught me to do the same with film. Maybe shipping by air would be even worse. I hear some of those freight-only airplane cabins are not heated.
