Members Broktun Posted May 1, 2004 Members Posted May 1, 2004 Hi all, I am new here and thought I would post this to the acoustic board i/o the amp board. I am in the market for a pa system to use for small gigs. I will be using an acoustic guitar with vocals only. Anyone have any suggestions? I have seen a Kustom system which is being discontinued for $150. The amp is a 4 channel, 80 watt, with 2 speakers with 10" speakers. I want to try to go inexpensive, as money is tight. I have decided, however to use Shure SM58 mics. Thanks in advace for your help Broktun
Members Cortfan Posted May 2, 2004 Members Posted May 2, 2004 Kustom makes o.k. stuff. You might want to look at Behringer brand also. We got an 8 channel powered head for $299.99 plus $30 for a 3 year extended waranty. We use it for jams and a backup. Any 4 channel should work for you. Try www.fullcompass.com

Members dw kleine Posted May 3, 2004 Members Posted May 3, 2004 Behringer does make a powered mixer for $299. I would check out Carvin. They make several powered mixers and have quite a few package deals that include speakers. Make sure you get a powered mixer that allows you to run monitors. Hot spot monitors are a simple and an easy way to go to hear yourself when playing live. DW
