Edit: Having said that the overall size is going to be around the same as your existing acoustic. Alternatively, you might want to have a look at the Yamaha range of electro acoustics (APX, CPX, AEX even)... they're on the whole a little thinner bodywise than other guitars... I think they have a couple of nylon strung guitars which would be within your budget. Or finally, a bowlback design like an Ovation or one of the Takamine NAX(?) range.
