Members LittleBrother Posted June 12, 2004 Members Posted June 12, 2004 Well someone scored themselves a 12 fret 1930s all mahogany Gibson in fantastic condition on EBAY for 1376.00. I came so close to buying it I could taste it but it's too much like the Crossroads guitars we are building so I held off. but DANG ! I would have loved this one. Rarely does one of these come along!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33025&item=3728204667&rd=1
Members HomePig Posted June 13, 2004 Members Posted June 13, 2004 jeez... Played one awhile ago at a guitar shop, quite possibly the easiest playing guitar I have ever played.
Members Mike Crixell Posted June 13, 2004 Members Posted June 13, 2004 Don't feel bad, Bro. The guitar's in great condition, but it sold for pretty much the going price for an L-0. These L-0's were always inexpensive ($35) learner guitars and they haven't really appreciated much over the years, except for nostalgic value. The L-0 and L-1 were Gibson's first flattops. Gibson resisted changing from their archtop guitars until it became apparent how popular flattops (read: Martins) were becoming. Gibson made tons of L-0s back in the 20s. In 1929, when the L-00 was introduced, they redesigned their whole line of flattops. The L-00's were louder, prouder and better designed. The L-0 and the L-1 went the way of the dinosaur not long after the L-00 stole the show. That's OK, man. No way an L-O could stand toe to toe with a Crossroads. Mike
Members andrewjudah Posted June 13, 2004 Members Posted June 13, 2004 Come to think of it, my grand father has an oooold gibson acoustic that looks something like that, just kicking around... he never plays it. Hopefully he chooses to pass it on to me years from now...

Members geek_usa Posted June 13, 2004 Members Posted June 13, 2004 there's a vintage gibson at a guitar shop nearby that's sort of like that for around $450... not sure if it's a real steal or not, it really didn't sound that great.
Members UGB Posted June 14, 2004 Members Posted June 14, 2004 I'll bet it was sold by a music store that picked it up off some kid for $600.
