Members woody b Posted June 29, 2004 Members Posted June 29, 2004 I know this is off topic but I don't want any of my acoustic buddies to get ripped off. I got an e-mail appearing to be from paypal asking for credit card information. This if from paypals site. Never provide personal or financial information in response to an email request: PayPal will not ask you to supply your password, bank account number, or any other financial information in an email.
Members 56Tweed Posted June 29, 2004 Members Posted June 29, 2004 I've seen a bunch of them. They always make me laugh. They have been getting pretty convincing too. The last one I received actually linked to some place with a Korean domain name, but that was hidden from view. Mike
Members RolandSM Posted June 30, 2004 Members Posted June 30, 2004 When I get these types of email messages, I inform ebay/paypal of them. They take this kind of stuff pretty seriously.
Members d15martin Posted June 30, 2004 Members Posted June 30, 2004 Whenever you get spoof emails appearing to be from PayPal or Ebay forward them to [email protected] or [email protected] correspondingly and they'll investigate things. It takes only a minute but might protect someone else.
