Members bobmeredith Posted July 1, 2004 Members Posted July 1, 2004 It's me again, Sorry to be a pest. Can anyone give me any info about this guitar? It was given to me by a friend over 15 years ago and is a cutawaydread style instrument. It's made by Suzuki (Nagoya)Model: W-120ECVS Back and Sides: Mahogany Top: Can't tell Neck: Mahogany Bridge & F'board: Rosewood It has an under saddle pup with a passive volume and tone control. The top is finished with this antique furniture style finish, the type where you apply the stain an then rub it with a cloth. It's hard to tell what the top is made of underneath this finish but where the grain does show thru its fine grained. The antique finish extends over the lip of thhe sound hole so I can't tell if it's a solid top or not. I've always assumed it to be a low priced beater but it has a nice tone and is well made. Does anyone know what the top might be and if it's solid or not? The back and sides show some evidence of grain when viewed through the soundhole but I guess it's too much to hope that B & S are solid as well. I'm pretty ignorant as far as the finer points acoustics go, I was given a expensive handmade Smallman acoustic and only discovered that the old Suzuki classical (SG-300) I bought 20 years ago for $300 has a solid top back and sides. The photo probably won't tell you much, but it might help a bit Yes I Know; I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy. Any info would be gratefully received. Thanks Bob
