Some day I'm going to play a 1 13/16 neck to see if I like it but I've never found one to try out. I kinda think it won't work for me.

OK, I admit I am math challenged. Which is wider, 1 13/16 or 1 3/4 inches?

Is there anyone out there that can explain to me why the nut width is such an elusive thing for me? I see some listed as 1.7. What does that mean compared to other measurements in inches and then some metric stuff for good measure.

I need to understand fully how an inch is broken down. Can someone point me in the right direction on this so I can better understand?

Thanks,

Thanks,

13 divided by 16 is .81 inches
3 divided by 4 is .75 inches

Hope that helps! :)

That really does help! Now I should be able to figure out which measurement is wider. I am finding out that I like a wider nut width, so this measurement is important to me in deciding what types of guitars to consider.

Okay, let's see...I'll need a OOO 12 fret long scale, a OO 12 fret short scale, a OM, a parlour and an understanding woman. Yup, that should do it.
