Members desaljs Posted July 26, 2004 Members Posted July 26, 2004 I have begun to appreciate the merits of on-board tuners for A/E guitars. One of my Alvarez acoustics has this feature. I have 2 small children, and using a chromatic tuner that needs to "listen" to the instrument can be a real challenge for me. I also invested in a 3 foot 1/4 inch cord to plug in the tuner on the other A/E's without the on-board feature. This is another way around the ambient noise in my household. My ear can tell me when I am out of tune, but I am not able to accurately tune without these electronic aids.
Members d15martin Posted July 26, 2004 Members Posted July 26, 2004 Yes, I can't live w/o my on-board tuner. I use one of these: http://www.wittman-spins.com/tuners.html Mine is the version with the built-in condenser mic inside the guitar (clipped to a brace, visible only to the player). It doesn't alter my Martin D-15 at all (it's even the same color). And the owner is a great guy to deal with. Check them out, they also have stuff for electrics.
