Members pcd Posted August 5, 2004 Members Posted August 5, 2004 I have a Lucida Concerto which I bought for about that price, although I've seen them listed here and there on the net for much less--around $350-450...I highly recommend them--mine has a cedar top, rosewood b & s. Excellent intonation, with a sweet, dark "Spanish" sound.

I'm not familiar with that guitar, but if a solid wood guitar went that cheap, I'd buy it just to kick around some classical with.
Members Aujouret Posted August 10, 2004 Members Posted August 10, 2004 No, the Lucida Artista Concerto LG 777 is a solid wood guitar. The back and sides are solid Rosewood. I am buying one in 23 days. I am excited too. I have heard great things about it at the AG forum. Do a search there and read the comments for yourself.
Members franchelB Posted August 10, 2004 Members Posted August 10, 2004 I'd suggest looking into LaPatire's guitars from Canada. Solid cedar top, laminated b/s...plays and sounds incredible for @$500.
Members DTox Posted August 11, 2004 Members Posted August 11, 2004 Alhambra 7P, solid cedar top, solid rosewood sides and back. Looks and sounds more expensive, though.
Members tomthebaptist Posted August 12, 2004 Members Posted August 12, 2004 Any of the Alhambra models are great. I have a 4P and a 7P. The 4P has rosewood laminated sides and back and mahogony neck with red cedar top. The 7P is solid rosewood back and side, german spruce top, spanish cypress neck, ebony fingerboard... very nice guitar. You might check out this sight for more information: www.xguitars.com - a great web sight and very informative.tc
Members opivy Posted August 13, 2004 Members Posted August 13, 2004 i'd advise you to stay away from Cordoba guitars like the plague. they don't have enough in the upper mids/treble to really sound good.
