Pickup????

I know i have asked too many questions about larrivee's but here is another lol......... Is the pickup system in the 03 series any good?

 

I have no place to try it so that is why i am asking soo many questions sorry!

Yeah, anything that has to do w/ Larrivee will be quality.

It's the B-Band A-5 preamp, right? Most likely with their UST, and not the AST.

If so, good stuff. I think LittleBrother has a clip on his site for the clay shim trick that uses a B-Band UST (don't know about the preamp, though). You might want to check it out.

Yes, you are correct it is the b-band a5.

i have no idea what ust or ast is so yeah lolol.

 

What does everyone else think?

The clips are on his site...

I prefer stereo fraps or something like a Dearmond though... but I like the old school set ups.

UST = Under-saddle transducer

 

AST= Acoustic-soundboard transducer

 

UST's just fit right under your bridge saddle, while an AST will stick to the soundboard. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you do a forum search, there's plenty of great information on this topic.
