Members spaceace Posted August 20, 2004 Members Posted August 20, 2004 Martin 15-series? a good alternative? Tanglewood? a lot cheaper, but... I want a well-sounding acoustic un-plugged as well as plugged. That gets us to another question: mic options on eg. a Martin?
Members woody b Posted August 21, 2004 Members Posted August 21, 2004 There's several good sounding solid wood Tacoma's available for that price. What type and size guitar dou you want. The Martin 15 series are good guitars but they're a little plain for my taste. I haven't had any experience with Larrivee's
Members spaceace Posted August 22, 2004 Author Members Posted August 22, 2004 dreadnought models..not jumbo
Members woody b Posted August 22, 2004 Members Posted August 22, 2004 Tacoma has changed their models some but for quite a bit less than $1K you could get a DR14 or a DM14. They're both dreds with spruce tops and ebony fingerboards and bridges. The DR14 has rosewood back and sides and the DM14 has mahogany back and sides. Both of them as well as all Tacoma's made since 2000 or so are all solid woods.
