I am trying to decide on a new acoustic and i am considering 3 guitars!

I would like your honest opinion.

The first is a larrivee lv-03re, 2nd is a carvin c980, and lastly a breedlove atlas series guitar.

Which has the best quality and sound for the money?

Thanks alot!

I don't have any of them. I like the Larrivee beacuse it's made in North America instead of overseas. The Larrivee is the only one I've play out of those three.

I have had my eye on the Atlas series for awhile now, but have not played one yet. Which model were you leaning towards in the Atlas series. I'm thinking about the AD20SR Plus, then adding B-Band electronics to it. I'm still waiting to play one before I make my decision though. If I track one down soon I'll let you know what I thought.

The larrive 03 series is actually made in Canada I believe, but there is nothing wrong with that. They are just as good as American made instruments, they shouldn't be compared to chinese made instruments just because they are foreign, if you get my drift.

I personally would go with a Larrivee, but no electronics. The larrivee is an all solid wood instrument, whereas the carvin will at least have laminate sides if I remember correctly, and the same goes for the breedlove atlas series. I've also heard that the quality control of the breedlove atlas series is lacking, and they are korean made instruments as well.

I have two carvins and they are great, but I think I would go for the Larrivee. I have been looking into a larrivee, but at the time I don't have the enough money.

I have a Carvin and love the guitar but Larrivee gets a lot of props from many respected contributors to this forum. I would have to give serious consideration to the Larry.

Out of those, if you've got the scratch for a Larrivee, I'd go for it.

I'll also recommend checking out Tacoma's, too. Great guitars that are well worth taking a look at.

Ultimately, there's only one thing that can tell you which guitar is "best"...your own ear.

Personally, I don't care for the Larrivee sound. But, I think there more people that like that sound...

I'd seriously opt of Breedlove's Atlas series...

The import Breedloves really blew me away. I was all prepared to hate them as they were being shown to me by a rep last year. I was working as the buyer for a small east coast M.I. retail chain. I was so impressed that I placed a sizeable order on the spot. Something I rarely do. I didn't stay there long enough to see any of them come in, so I don't know how they've done.

I'd recommend trying them before you make up your mind.

I just played the Breedlove AD20SR Plus in a local shop yesterday and was BLOWN AWAY buy the quality. I was the best sounding and playing acoustic I've ever played in that price range. Personally I don't have problem with Korean made guitars. They are just as capable of making a quality axe as anyone else. I don't trust the quality control however. So if you buy one online make sure you get a satisfaction guarantee. I can't offer an opinion on the Larrivee or Carvin.

Would i like the finish on the 03 larrivee series?

Cause i have a gibson sg faded special, and the neck gets all sticky and crap?

Would that happen with the larrivee?
