Very interesting. I didn't know that. Flattop. 25' radius is huge. Done for structural reasons, according to what they wrote. The guitar is otherwise constructed like a flattop. Archtop constuction is very different.

I recently played a few Huss and Daltons. I thought they were excellent build quality and great sounding guitars. I never noticed the tops having any extra radius at all. It never entered my mind to even consider them archtops.

I did think their Concert Model was a bit deeper than most concerts I've played. Maybe the radius top played a part in this?
It was still a very comfortable guitar to play with a great neck and playability.

I rank the H&D's right up there with the other small shop builders such as Santa Cruz, Goodall, Breedlove, Collings, Bourgeios ect...

It sure is a Great time to be an Acoustic guitar nut!! :)

I realize the difference between a true archtop and flat top; however........this seemed almost in the category of a "hybrid".

I had the pleasure of learning about this subtle difference in construction from Matt at www.divineappointmentguitars.com when I visited him last week. I also had the opportunity to play a couple Huss & Dalton's including the MJC, OM-C, & 00. All beautifully crafted instruments! :)

Oh well.....another opportunity to gush over my H&D OM. Still the best sounding guitar I've ever played or heard in person. I thought many guitars were constructed with the 25' radius(or thereabouts)? Anyway, as with all brands they come in all different flavors....to my ears mine is divine! I had an opportunity to compare it to many of the popular "great" guitars.....to me the H&D was the best. I've never tried a Goodall, with all the talk lately about their attributes I can't wait to try one.
