Members WilsonMak Posted October 15, 2004 Members Posted October 15, 2004 I'm trying to play "Gravedigger" by Dave Mathews right now but it doesn't sound right on my Taylor 414rce. dave Uses a martin Dread to play the song. I don't know it it's my playing or if it's the guitar but it just doesn't sound right...Do I need a guitar with more bass/dread for some song to work? It is just cause I have a Taylor?
Members joestierman Posted October 15, 2004 Members Posted October 15, 2004 maybe thicker strings would make your sound "fuller" or "deeper"? just a thought. and pick/strum closer to the neck?
Members buddyboy Posted October 16, 2004 Members Posted October 16, 2004 Maybe time to add another tool to the box?? BTW - have you tried those new short-scale taylors? 5/8ths inch shorter, less tension, much richer bass especially for a Taylo! The 2 I played were both dreads. Nice for short fingers too!
