I keep hearing they are relativly low. I want a really nice action, I dont like my Gibson Acoustic simply becasue the action is like over a centimeter from the board, and if I tweak the truss rod at all, it buzzs like crazy. Most people have a pro setup done to tweak a guitar to their particular playing style. Most Martins have a med/high action from the factory. Spend $50 and your guitar will play like butta. Members egordon99 Posted November 19, 2004 Members Share Posted November 19, 2004 As an added thought, the truss rod doesn't really raise/lower the action. It helps with the neck relief (look at http://www.frets.com for info), generally the action is set by either raising (adding shims) or lowering (sanding down) the saddle. I think the action is pretty darn good but I'm still taking it to a professional to have it checked out.
