Members jimeanes Posted December 31, 2004 Members Posted December 31, 2004 Got my guitar last monday. This is a Mahogany dreanought, sitka spruce top, bone nut and saddle, ebony pins, forward shifted advanced X bracing, 1-11/16 neck, light weight and the finish is top notch.Took the light guage strings off put on John Pearse 80/20 medium strings I took off my old J-50 four weeks ago and the guitar came alive. All notes are clean, strong bass and a real cannon. Has a sound like a GOOD martin D-18V , Santa Cruz Vintage type sound. If guitars really do open up I can't wait.Mark Taylor and boys did a good Job when they made this one. Members LittleBrother Posted December 31, 2004 Members Posted December 31, 2004 Hi Jim, Yep that one is one of the best unknown secrets in the industry. Norman Blake said it's one of the finest mahogany dreads he ever played and I got him on video saying it. Hey come by and see us sometime on APM too. Hope you're doing okay and I hope you can make it to next years Jam. Hope you are doing great. Hey we have an article too on the jam with a video. I think you are in the slide show at the end. There's one video version for dialup modems too. LB Jam Article and Video. Have a good one. Best, Doug - LB
